Manuscript Structure

  1. Title Page:
    • Title: Concise and informative, avoiding abbreviations.
    • Author Names: Full names (first, middle initial, last), with superscript numbers for affiliations.
    • Author Affiliations: Department, institution, city, state/province, country.
    • Corresponding Author: Name, affiliation, address, phone number, and email address.
    • Running Title: A short title (less than 50 characters) for page headers.
    • Word Count: For the abstract and main text separately.
    • Funding Sources: Any grants or funding received.
    • Conflicts of Interest: Disclosure of any potential conflicts of interest.
  2. Abstract:
    • Structured Abstract (Recommended):
      • Background: Briefly state the context and purpose of the study.
      • Methods: Describe the study design, participants, and interventions.
      • Results: Summarize the main findings.
      • Conclusion: State the implications of the findings.
    • Word Limit: Typically, 250-300 words.
    • Keywords: 3-6 keywords for indexing and searching.
  3. Introduction:
    • Provide background information on the research topic.
    • State the research question or objective.
    • Briefly review relevant literature.
  4. Methods:
    • Study Design: Clearly describe the study design (e.g., randomized controlled trial, cohort study, cross-sectional survey).
    • Participants: Describe the study population, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and recruitment methods.
    • Interventions (if applicable): Describe the interventions or treatments used.
    • Data Collection: Describe the methods used to collect data.
    • Statistical Analysis: Describe the statistical methods used to analyze the data.
    • Ethical Considerations: Include information on ethical approvals and informed consent.

For review article

Methods:

  • Search Strategy: Detail the databases searched (e.g., PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science), search terms used (including Boolean operators), and date range of the search.
  • Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria: Specify the criteria used to select studies for inclusion in the review (e.g., study design, population, outcomes).

    • Present the findings of the study in a clear and concise manner, using tables and figures where appropriate.
    • Avoid interpreting the results in this section.
  2. Discussion:
    • Interpret the findings in the context of the research question and existing literature.
    • Discuss the limitations of the study.
